Our 25-Point Inspection Ensures Quality

We are known in the industry for renting quality trailers at DP Trailer Rental. We want to make sure that you are not only renting a nice-looking trailer but a quality trailer that has been inspected by our trailer service/repair shop, Dunk Pye Trailer, and Heavy Duty Truck Repair, LLC.

The shop does a 25-point inspection in addition to making sure that the trailers are up to date with their FHWA inspections. You are given a copy of the inspection report for your records when you pick up the trailer. Before a trailer goes back into the rental fleet, our trailer mechanics perform the following inspections:

Electrical System

Within the electrical system, all turn signals, tail lights, marker lights, and nose receptacles are examined. Any wiring or light cover issues are corrected if needed. We have a brand new Lite-Check Machine, that helps to ensure everything is in good, working condition.

Suspension

The springs or airbags, depending on whether you are renting a spring or air ride trailer, are checked on the trailer. The tandem frame and the axles are also checked to make sure they are all in good working order.

Interior

On the inside of the trailer, the flooring, plywood, and internal panels are inspected. The plywood in the nose, threshold plate, roof, roof bows, side posts, and scuff are also checked. We make sure that all floors are solid and threshold plates are not bent or coming apart from the flooring. We want to make loading a breeze, so you can make your deadlines.

Exterior

The side panels, bottom rails, top rails, and crossmembers on the exterior of the trailer are all inspected. The doors are checked to make sure that they are in good working order and can close and lock properly. All landing gear is checked to make sure it is in good condition, along with the ICC bumper, mud flaps, and brackets. All trailers are water tested, to ensure there are no leaks.

Brakes – Lining Percentage

All brakes/lining are inspected. The percentages of brakes are noted on the spec sheet that you will receive.

Drum Condition

Drum conditions are checked and noted.

Tires

The tires on the trailers are inspected using 32nds in depth. The measurements will be noted on the spec sheet as a reference. The size of the tires is noted as well. We want you to have all of the tire information. After you leave with the trailer, if you ever need to replace a tire down the road, you will have everything you need for replacement.
